5 Things You Should Not Do with You E-Cigarette - What to Know

An electronic cigarette, or e-cigarette, is a device that most people use these days to smoke nicotine. Most people use an e-cigarette to help them quit cigarette smoking. Unlike regular cigarettes, this device allows users to taste different flavours of e-liquids when they vape, which makes it more popular among users.

You can use e-cigarettes for a long period. However, you need to give your e-cigarette proper maintenance to make sure that the internal parts are perfectly working. With that said, here are five things that you should never do to keep your e-cigarette in its top performance:

1. Not cleaning the battery terminal, clearomiser, and atomiser

If your device is not functioning well, one thing that you can do is to check its internal parts for any dirt. Moreover, your e-cigarette may carry infectious bacteria and fungi, so make sure that you clean your device regularly.

Cleaning the battery terminals prevent it from having issues connecting with the clearomiser. Like so, cleaning the clearomiser and atomiser helps keep its performance high. To do so, take these parts from the e-cig pen and wash them with hot water. Let them dry for 24 hours before putting them back to the vape.

2. Storing e-cigarette sideways or upside down

The air holes in the clearomiser are responsible for making sure that your e-cigarette is at a good temperature, as well as ensuring that the e-liquid keeps the wick saturated. When you store your vape sideways or upside down, you’re blocking the air coming from the air holes going to the coil. That can give your e-liquid a poor taste. Therefore, always store your e-cigarette upright.

Additionally, make sure to keep your vape away from water, direct sunlight, and high temperature. You can also consider getting your vape a case to avoid damaging its sensitive parts.

3. Letting e-liquid level go below the air holes in the atomiser

When you’re using a bottom dual coil clearomisers (BDC’s), make sure not to run the e-liquid beyond the atomiser since this can cause a dry burn. Aside from that, it will also cause your e-liquid to taste foul. Once you’ve noticed that your e-liquid is running out, make sure to fill it up.

4. Screwing the clearomiser too tight

A clearomiser is an internal part of the e-cigarette where the e-liquid is stored and turned into vapour. So, be extra careful when taking it off since it is one of the essential parts of the vape.

When screwing the clearomiser, make sure not to do it too tightly since it may damage the connections between the battery and the clearomiser. If you’re struggling to unscrew the clearomiser, loosen it using a rubber grip and never with any tools.

5. Not changing the coil

Coils are part of the atomiser, which are responsible for heating the e-liquid for it to vaporise.

Some e-cigarettes have replaceable coils, and you need to change them regularly. If you don’t, the coil can get worn out and can give your e-liquid a burnt taste. For this case, simply cleaning the coil won’t help. At least change its coil once a month to keep your vape working at its best.

Conclusion

An e-cigarette is a high-maintenance smoking device. Keeping your equipment clean does not only make your vaping experience great, but it also saves you from any health issues that you may get from using an unsafe and dirty smoking device.
